Sree Kali Chathan Malankurathy Puliyampulli Namboothiri Achan Madam

When Sri Bhadrakali was in upasana until the day of his passing, a tapacharya named Sri Puliyampulli Namboothiri visited the Kodungallur shrine. He arrived at Valapad Kali Chathan Madam right away after learning of Kunchumuthappan's Sevashakti. At midnight on the new moon day at the temple pond, Sri Puliyampulli Namboothiri saw Goddess Sri Bhadrakali on the right side of Muthappan and Chathan Swamy on the left. Sri Kunju Muthappan was drawn to the divine spirit in the temple pond, and his entourage and the most important disciple remained with him at Valapad Kali Chatan Madam. Puliyam Pulli Namboothiri has blessed the Sri Kali Vishnumaya Temple as a place of refuge for Keralan devotees, shielding them from the grief and suffering of their homeland by providing all necessary relief.

The historic Puliyampulli Namboothiri Madam is located in Valapad village, 4 km west of Thriprayar temple in Thrissur district. Goddess Kali and Vishnumaya Chathan Swami are worshiped with equal importance in this temple. This temple has been served by the ancestors for a long time. Bhaktaharsha Puliyampulli Namboothiri, who during an experiment showed the king two full moons floating in the blue sky at 12 o'clock in the night on Karkitaka Amavasi day, made all the devotees of God tremble in their spiritual essence. Puliyampulli Namboothiri Madam gives blessings to all, irrespective of caste and religion. When Vishnu accepts Mayaseva and removes the plague, he shows the sign. Special rituals like Chenkuruti, Karinkuruthi, Uruli Kamazhthal, and Guruthiyadi Pooja are also performed with miraculous results.
